My insight into this rarefied farming world was a few Christmasses ago when I still met up with the NCT group I had joined in desperation to get antenatal care before twins popped.
One member was a farmer’s wife who said she had to scrimp by with handmedowns…yet had the latest Range Rover and a Swiss chalet they visited 2x year. Another member was a GP and after a few drinks asked her point blank if her farm had a multi million pound turnover. Of course it did.
