Wow, Apple’s pulling some underhanded shit. They’re using the DMA requirements for alternative appstores, to ban PWA’s in Europe. This is on top of them implimenting third party payments and appstores in such a way that nobody will ever use them. But to find a way to kill PWA’s by using EU regulations pushing for more openness.
As part of DMA compliance, Apple will no longer support Progressive Web Apps in the EU.
It’s going to be quite impressive if the primary outcome from Apple’s DMA compliance efforts are worse user experiences and no improvements in competition in the iOS ecosystem.
