I don't really understand a lot of the names for cannabis.

I sort of see where the name "weed" comes from, but most of the others are all ❓❓❓

Why "pot"? Did they used to grow it in pots? Or cook with it in one?

Where did "marijuana" or its English equivalent "Mary Jane" come from? Was there some person by that name who smoked a lot?
