I don't really understand the position that legal protections, terms of service, or alternative licensing (like creative commons) are bad or incompatible with lefty politics. can anyone explain it to me?
like if we wanted to license posts in a way that servers could display them to users but not mine them for AI training, is that a bad thing? I understand the ideal of open sharing without restriction but it seems like a naïve position to take when there are so many huge corporations currently existing and wanting to misuse data and code.
