i reckon mac os still has the best culture of "actual native GUI software with lots of useful menu bars and buttons and features", i definitely miss it, that was the main reason i used it years ago. didnt think it was actually that good as a unix workstation tho, brew (&having 2 versions of everything) is almost as annoying as cygwin/msys/wsl2. also the window management wasnt to my taste. apparently also basic UI stuff has been going downhill in the few years since i last used it
