A 2-party system is a mathematical consequence of plurality voting. While ranked voting as suggested by npub1m9p200m97y5allregssl530da6xsxkqa60xphcl3mqwsu8zj8ququxxnr9 (npub1m9p…xnr9) is impractical (for both voting equipment and voting comprehension), simply voting for more than 1 is already supported by all voting equipment, readily understood by voters, and already in use for many local races.

It also increases the likelihood that no candidate will gain 270 electoral votes in the case of the Presidential.

For that case, I recommend we follow the constitution and vote for electors, NOT presidential candidates. As it is, you have to work pretty hard to even know the name of the electors you are voting for. They are not put on the ballot. It is well worth meeting them.
