If your goal is to capture memories, I’m not positive cropping a 4:3 sensor to 16:9 just to get 4k is better than having additional content in the frame at a lower resolution.
And perhaps it’s just nostalgia, but I really like how 4:3 video looks. It works better than 16:9 in a lot of scenarios, too — when viewing in PiP, full screen with your phone in portrait orientation, etc.
