I haven't purchased external disks in more than a decade. If an external SSD comes with some kind of hardware encryption, is this something I'll have to worry about in terms of shitty drivers or GUI applications being required to use them? I don't plan on trusting that encryption anyways, so the first thing I'll do is to dump a Veracrypt volume on it.
