It’s all cyclical based on hindsight. When I went to college (late 2000s) all the boomers said not to go into IT because all the jobs were going to be outsourced to India. Then there was big demand for IT skills since it takes 4 years to get a degree and the supply lagged from ppl listening to boomer advice. So the boomers doubled down in the opposite direction and then said everyone should learn to code lmao. So now there are tons of ppl that don’t even like computers that studied IT simply for the allure of a future cushy high payoff job. At the same time that interest rates were shooting up and debt was getting much more expensive to maintain for companies. Also at the same time as AI was getting better and removing some of the lower level work. Basically ppl just need to stop listening to boomers and decide what is best for themselves, bc boomer advice is for a bygone era and hasn’t been applicable for decades.
