Egad. The mites molted and then played a rather tough game of battle royale. I could only find four, maybe five, of them last night and I'm reluctant to look in the tank this morning (they're nocturnal.)
I asked Crayfish Deva about it and She said that this is an important part of their lifecycle, the fighting and eating each other as juveniles. Kind of puts school days in perspective.
