Ronen is an interesting case. I think she had, from what I could tell, good instincts and values, but was not very effectual for reasons that are not clear to me. Maybe not best served by (all) her aides? I don't know.
Sup. Peskin is one of the effective supervisors, I think, but also complicated in terms of values and concerns. Sometimes good - some of the stuff around surveillance, always standing up for OG Frisco, at least in North Beach - but also more pro business at times than I really wanted - pro business on an immediate, constituent level, where I would have wanted a more expansive longterm view of the needs of the CITY as a whole.
