I don't think of it at all as "if we allow it to happen there it will eventually come here." We've been allowing Palestinians to be oppressed for a long time. We've allowed other genocides as well. We were buddies with South Africa right up until we weren't.
The new thing here isn't that a genocide has started. It's just accelerated. The new thing is that the Palestinians fought back in a big way that finally started waking people up to what was going on.
