A furry once described Daniel to me thusly: Daniel is obsessed with stories and likes to occupy the mind of characters; like a main in a book he's reading, or an "emperor of bitcoin", or a complete retard. I think this is half the reason that nothing Daniel says should be taken seriously.
The other half, I think, is the fact that Daniel *really* likes the concept of forcing people to play a game, even if they don't realize they are. Daniel has expressed, during multiple interviews that he absolutely loves the film "Being There" and likes to believe Craig is a real-life "Chance the Gardener"; a simple person who is impossibly launched upwards into the power structures of society by people who project their ideas of what "wisdom" or "competence" looks like, without questioning their own judgement.
I think Daniel really dislikes himself. I think that he thinks the only way he can ascend from his state is by fooling people...by getting them to unwittingly play a game wherein they raise him up by participating in his weird fantasies (e.g. being a very smart person or the "emperor of bitcoin"). I think he simps on Craig hard, because Craig embodies the epitome of a midwit who commits himself so hard to the LARP, that he is able to achieve greatness, not by effort, but by fooling people to role play with him.
