meso (nprofile…96ll) the tabs are denser and easier to store if you're collecting aluminium for crackhead/recycling purposes. I was told as a kid they were made of a higher grade aluminium than the rest of the can and are therefore worth more but I don't think that's actually true. I remember there being programs specifically aimed at getting people to recycle tabs though.
