I told the Mastodon server on raccoon.zone to self destruct yesterday, and ever since then it's been trying to send "I'm gone and not coming back" messages to other Fediverse servers that it thinks it knows about. There are SO MANY failures and retries, it looks like on the order of thousand servers (give or take) that it thinks should exist, but that it cannot reach for whatever reason. It'll keep retrying those, probably until I give up and delete the server.
There has got to be a better way.
