That reminds me about a presentation by one interesting guy, Michael Verhulst, at a local meetup. He is a scalability expert and he runs a start-up that rescues other start-ups. Whenever they grow to 6e9 overnight and hit scalability issues, he solves them. The title of his presentation was:
"Nobody Is Google, Not Even Google"
His thesis was that people think they are (or may become) Google. But they are not. Their scalability issues are always far short from the planetary scale.
