Maybe your right. I'm looking for more secure ways of distinguishing the madrelingue from the lingua franca. I know it might sound silly but I genuinely think we need a good way to separate US native speakers from international English speakers in the same way the Brits have purposefully changed their vocabulary and pronunciation to separate themselves from the US.
