It’s not even worth a hate watch. It’s just bad on so many levels. Even if you try ignore the crazy amount of wokeness and just focus on the story…it’s still bad. The writing is atrocious…I mean high school bad. For something that was promoted as a murder mystery, which is actually a good idea, it isn‘t. I’m not sure the writers actually studied the genre of murder mystery in between lesbian studies classes. You get zero time to care about the characters at all before they are unceremoniously killed…and not even in an interesting or exciting way. So there’s zero investment by the audience. This is supposed to be story told from the perspective of the bad guys. Ok, but we’re half way through the series and we’ve seen the big bad for a total of about 1 min in 2 scenes. Not much time to tell that story, eh?
The acting (outside of Master Squid Games) is subpar at best. The one thing they did well for the $180M budget is the look and feel. It really does have the look and feel of a movie rather than a series…a really bad movie, but a high budget bad movie.
