Perhaps more informative than exploring what my hypothetical "string-centric" hardware's strengths, is to explore its weaknesses!
Though its interesting that many of its strengths (equality/prefix/suffix/infix checks, dictionaries, graph analysis, CSS styling, decompression, & USB; in turn caching, identifier resolution, event dispatch, etc) relies on metaprogramming (dynamically generate code which computes the real answer)!
