"content": "Canvassing in the 2019 GE for Labour, I came across many such men. The constant theme was betrayal. Labour had betrayed them by supporting a watered-down Brexit. The Tories had betrayed them by not being sufficiently anti-immigrant. I suspect in many cases their wives had betrayed them, judging by their apparent single status. They were often either unemployed or in low status jobs and resentful of imagined 'elites'. There is definitely a type.",
