I haven't talked about my Home Assistant setup in a while. This is what I consider a minimum viable setup but it gives me peace of mind. What I have here are two motion sensors (no cameras), three leak detectors for below sinks, and one smart switch for turning on and off a lamp to simulate occupation.

It's all Zigbee, with no 'net exposure. Tailscale to the hub.

It did take a few days to set up, but after that it has run pretty smoothly. It's not a big investment, and I think worthwhile.
