The Power of the Present Moment
I cannot control what will happen when and how. But I can influence what I do with the time I have. And it seems so little. But is it just an illusion?
What brings you back to the present? When you don't dwell on the past and don't worry about what you have to do or what lies ahead?
When do you realize the seconds you're experiencing now?
What's beautiful about them? And that now is the moment when you see a beautiful horizon, rain falling to the ground, the sun setting, and the emerging night?
I deliberately choose those moments that most people see as ruining their lives. Why? Because there is so much beauty in it. These moments that often disrupt our perfect plans for "free" time, and suddenly we're angry that we can't go anywhere.
Isn't it just our minds programming us to see something wrong with not being able to use the moment for ourselves as we wanted?
And why can't we look at it differently? That it's an opportunity, a chance to boldly inhale fresh air after the rain, observe a different spectrum of colors than the ones we see in sunny weather.
Listen to the silence, and maybe just the fleeting rustling of trees when no one is outside and it's quiet.
Let the silence, which we so often avoid, have its effect on us.
I often think about this when I paint, how many emotions, how many beautiful experiences we avoid just because of some beliefs.
And the magical moments, full of otherworldly atmosphere, which often form fairy tales and movies, I paint onto the canvas with joy and bliss.
Because they belong to life and have an equally significant place on this amazingly diverse earth. Which always balances all processes.
