Farm jack will make easy work of popping the pitiless adapter out.
Thinking of using a pipe vise clamp, pulley hoist, and a Little Giant to pull it up. Might get a second hoist from Harbor Freight so that one is connected at the top (in addition to someone holding it) while the other one is disconnected and reconnected at the “bottom”. $16 for the extra hoist is cheap insurance.
Could probably do it solo this way (assuming it works), but I’ll wait and take the extra set of hands.
