1. The earth tilts at 23.5 degrees wrt the sun
2. The max tilt angle we experience occurs shortly before perihelion and aphelion
3. It takes about 365.25 days to go around the sun, so not evenly divisible
No calendar will ever really makes sense for the start date. It's all arbitrary
