I have severe misokinesia *and* misophonia. ANY repetitive movements will immediately dysregulating me. It can cause rapid meltdowns for me.
This certainly makes interacting with my wife (who never STOPS stimming) somewhat fraught!
But it has caused me to observe that for all that neurotypicals get annoyed by autistic stimming, they almost universally have a meltdown if you ask THEM to stop stimming. No matter how nicely you ask.
I would very deeply love to core out the parts of my brain that have misokonesia and misophonia. They are absolutely miserable to live with, and mean I can't even spend time around my own people, because every other autistic I know stims really heavily.
And now I. Sad, so into my sensory burrito I go.
