It's odd. Sometimes, you remember someone you used to work with. You Google them and there's either no reference to them at all, or they're only mentioned in the context of the job you did with them 20+ years ago. No social media accounts, no subsequent references, nothing.
And then there are the old colleagues who were very active online for years, diligently maintaining their internet presence - websites, social media accounts, youtube channels, and then one day, inexplicably, it all stops.
