I took little, short-legged, 23-pound Guapo on his short morning walk as usual this morning. But at the end of my intended 2 miles, Guapo tugged hard in the direction of a longer walk on nearby hiking trails. I yielded to his wishes. At the halfway point of a 4-mile loop, Guapo saw a trailhead leading into a neighborhood and pulled in that direction. I think he was ready to go home. But I had to break the bad news to him that it was not our neighborhood and we were still two miles from home. We’re now home after 6 miles and little Guapo is ready for a nap.
