30 years ago when the US refused the sign onto Kyoto, the Europeans should have been brave and refused to trade with them, just like they refused to trade with other countries that didn't support things like human rights.
It was the rights of children of the future that were at stake. Living on a habitable planet is a human right.
But no.... money was their guiding principle, not ethics.
The Republicans are hellbent on dismantling any kind of climate laws. Not that Biden is doing that much better... but the Europeans should nip this all in the bud and start talking about refusing trade with countries that don't reduce emissions.
