It's about not letting your ego ruin your effort and progress. Tonight at open mat I tapped a lot. I wasn't on my best game. But that's okay - I showed up and got my training time. That's a win. But I also let my off night catch me off guard.
I was humbled with a loud pop of my ankle from a friend's toe holding they had on me. I didn't realize the position I was in and my own struggle to escape it ended up contributing to a near injury. Luckily, all is good. No immediate sign of injury after a brief rest. 🤙
