I just put 2.5gb in and of all my devices, 3 can hit speeds over 1gb. My isp caps at 1.2gb so throughput in the house is limited by that, 10gb would be 5 years too early for me.

I am going to upgrade as much as I can to 2.5 and move my IoT devices to a separate vlan someday.
