A follow up from my previous message about the worshipping of Saturn:
The God of Saturn was named: 'EL', in the old Phoenician Caananite religion.
Anyone that worshipped 'EL' was called an EL-der, that's where that word 'elder' came from.
So that person got EL-ected, another word that got its origins in this.
And finally, once elected, one becomes an EL-ite. He moved up in society, like in an EL-evator. 😉
