So here's the thing: when you actively work to undermine the systems that enable a peaceful transition of power, while simultaneously accusing your opponents of corrupting those same systems, then you leave everyone -- both your supporters and your opponents -- with the belief that those mechanisms cannot or will not work, and that violence is the only option left.

The *only* way out is for those folks destroying trust in those systems to recant and reaffirm that those systems do in fact work.
