Trying to decide if I want to take on this project next. The rains have cut a pretty deep channel where the water crosses our driveway. The channel on the left is new. The one on the right is so deep it’s hard on regular cars to cross.

If I remove the dirt in between and level the spot and reduce the grade, it’ll immediately be easier to drive over. And it would significantly slow the water to reduce channeling and even result in silt settling out to fill that dip back in over time.

Eventually I’ll be stopping that water flow higher up in the landscape, but it requires a big swale and a large crew. It’s just me today.
