Repeat after me: a country is *not* a corporation, and should not be run like one.
The former exists for the support of its population, while the latter for the pursuit of profits. These are mutually incompatible.
A country can never go broke in itself.
A country does not have a credit card limit.
A country doesn't have to make a profit. And shouldn't seek to.
And any politician who says "the country cannot afford..." is lying to you.
