Capitalist theory: People have to work for their living, as that motivates them into improving stuff to make their lives easier, and also if they wouldn't have to, then they'd just be lying down, drinking alcohol and doing drugs.

Capitalist reality: People are wasting their talents doing menial jobs just to survive. Even if they manage to pursue their dreams, they soon meet resistance from rich people rabidly trying to protect their unsustainable business models. In the end, all they can do is give up and drink alcohol and/or do drugs.
