Have a set of LG ones (front loader) only thing that has gone is the drain pump, $80 (Candanavian) part availabile at my local appliance shop.
Talk to a local appliance repair person, they can tell you what is generally decent.
Mid range is usually where I end up, top of the line has too many things that can break, bottom of the line is typically poorly build and loud.
