This is a follow-up to post I made a while back.
408 nostr relays online (according to nostr watch). Which is really 414 since Relayable.org (npub16fc…shgh) is only counted once.
Now imagine if nostr relays also ran a public DNS service with an alternative Top Level Domain (TLD) root? Can make DNS more censorship resistant, decentralized, and leverage nostr to do it. Would think most relays are underutilized and can handle the light load of DNS queries.
I have made a OpenNIC Tier 2 DNS server to abide by their requirements to add a new TLD (.nos? .nostr?) to theit network as a interium option.
#DNS does not log any queries:
172.96.167.214 (ns1.pleb.cloud)
Feel free to test it out and use it. No Google or Cloudflare in your DNS! Will be adding the Tier 1 DNS soon to abide by second requirement.
Next phase is to then implement into #nostr more tightly.
