I've noticed something that must be uniquely German because I've seen more than one person do it, but only Germans: Fork in left hand, knife in right hand, hold knife like a pencil, use knife to guide food towards fork. I tried holding my knife like this and it's awkward, but I've seen a few different deutschies do it. I imagine this is from the same 500 year old German Rule Book that the "I'm entitled to a peaceful Sunday" robotic response to grocery shopping on Sunday comes from.
