I’ve become obsessed with glob patterns (those wildcard strings you use to filter files.*) and I think it may drive me to insanity if it hasn’t already.

I’ve always thought of them as being a standard feature, but in reality they have been reimplemented hundreds of times with different behaviors and features. I would have thought there would be some kind of RFC or language definition, but it’s everyone just implementing what seems necessary at the time.
