West side of the country is beautiful in temperatures and panoramic views. Los Naranjos Is a good place to have a coffee/chocolate.

Early in the morning visit any of the magical towns of La Ruta de las Flores (Apaneca & Ataco are the best) to try some Salvadoran typical food and atoles (type of hot drink, atol de semilla de marañon the best).

It is hard to find good pupusas because there are plenty of places to go, but a good place to find a great variety is Planes de Renderos. This is a stop you can make on your way from the airport to San Salvador.
