Believe me, there are plenty of downsides to being intellectually gifted in a society that lionizes mediocrity (myths of meritocracy notwithstanding). It also requires targeted forms of supports to survive childhood and adolescence intact. But I hope you'll agree that being intellectually gifted is not a "disorder".
