Yes, we used to lose one bird a week to hawks and owls before we got a guard goose. Now we haven't lost any since. We also used to lose some to raccoons and once a fox wiped out around 100 birds over the course of a summer. Now we have a karakachan livestock guardian dog and haven't lost any since. We have a pretty mobile and wild setup so these solutions were the best for us. Fortification of the birds coop and run might be better for someone with backyard chickens.
