The other day I was talking to a friend who was part of a prominent charitable org, they mentioned they had an idea about working on project that would have raised a lot of money for the charity but a lot of the members rejected the idea of it being "commercialised". The morning after the conversation woke up to the news that the government had pulled funding and now its survival is at risk.
It reminded me of the last 20 years of conversation about funding OSS.
