META: the twitter-clones all have the same problem in that a thread "owner" has almost no moderation powers for the discussion on the thread. Compare this to, say, a discord server, where a minor internet celebrity can moderate the conversation, at the cost of limiting it to super fans. The tech-bro/libertarian solution of asking everyone to block doesn't work because in a conversation of 1000 people, you're asking 999 to take up the task of moderation if they want moderation.
