i have a wooden cutting board in the shape of a bird. its odd, lasercut form makes it useless for chopping things on, so it stands, balanced on top of the noticeboard in the kitchen. every few years somebody jostles it and it falls and the spindly bird legs break off and i have to glue them back on. this last happened on january 1st 2025. i have been walking around for the following thirteen days muttering like.
