(Migrating this guide off dying NAS)
Daughter presented me with a broken action figure this morning. I get people giving me all kinds of weird shits to fix since I have tools. Action figures are an interesting one.
If you ever tried to glue doll joints, you know it does not hold long and you always lose motion in the joint.
We can use basic silversmithing/redsmithing techniques to build new solid joints that restore articulation.
First step is to remove the disconnected ball joint from the limb.
You can drill it out if you must, but I find it better to remove it while so you can measure with calipers when turning the new metal joint.
Boil water in a kettle and pour. Soak the limb for 3-5 mins until stops steaming. Remove and just tweezers or forceps to pry the ball joint out of the softer vinyl/plastic.
