These days hams on this side of the pond don't even attempt 70cm weak signal anymore without begging for a Q on some antiquated web page. VHF contesting has become stupid in the US.
During the January VHF contest, which is considered THE contest to work folks on the upper VHF/UHF bands I worked only 23 stations on 70cm and 21 on 1.25m. Contrast that with 128 Q's on 2m 128 Q's and 168 Q's on 6m, all FT8
