a wooden (or ceramic) house. mini sort of thing that can sit on the mantel or windowsill. Plain, not nicely decorated with lovely flooers (my choice, rejected as too fussy) but with a number 40 on it.
I'm not finding anything. There are some nice tealight holder houses, but a lot are xmas themed. it does not need to be a tealight holder! Most things with 40 are for 40th birthday and have the "th" and/or are a bit cheap tacky as they are for party decorations. number 40 for a house number plaque. don't want that.
huge number of seaside scrapwood wonky cottages shabbychic etc, that style is not appreciated. and the unappreciater who doesn't like fussy things can't do her own internet search!!
