I am still not ready to say it’s bad that we don’t have the One Public Square in this moment. Overall, yes, the info environment is bad, worse than it was when we were all on Twitter. But I don’t think the problem is the fragmentation per se. It’s a) that we haven’t yet formed the ways to effectively manage that fragmentation, and b) that X hasn’t been evacuated and walled off like a superfund site.
