I had an eye opening day yesterday.
My partner put some cash in her bank, bank A.
I then sent a smaller amount of money from my bank to another of her banks, bank B.
She then proceeded to try and send some money from her bank A to a close friend of ours. The TX was blocked and she was told to call her bank.
On the phone she was asked a tonne of security questions followed by questions such as “are you try to send a tx of X amount”, “who is the receiver”, “why are you sending it” tho which she answered as a gift. They asked again, “why is she sending a gift”.
They proceeded to cancel the TX and freeze the funds in her account until she went in store.
She went in store and was bombarded with more questions, who is she sending it to blah blah blah. They even asked for the receivers details. At this point I let her know that she wasn’t obligated to answer.
The next question from the bank teller shocked me. “I can also see that you received a payment from XXX person (me) to your other bank, B”.
So bank A knew that I had sent money to bank B.
2 totally separate banks.
Or so I thought.
Anyway, the TX finally went through. But we lost half a day at the bank.
